Research Engineer (E.E.) 

Safeguard Equipment seeks a professional to join our team as an Electrical Engineering Research Engineer in our Post Falls, ID office. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in an R&D environment and expand your knowledge of electric fields and magnetic, embedded systems, and electronics manufacturing then this position is for you. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead in planning and executing work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality.

• Mentor and develop professional staff. May supervise as necessary.

• Design, manage, maintain Safeguard Safety Service iOS/Android mobile applications.

• Design, manage, maintain Safeguard Safety Service web applications.

• When needed, work as a project manager to leverage contractor and freelancer resources to accelerate project timelines.

• Continuously enhance existing software products.

• Practice active continuing education.

• Follow and apply Safeguard’s mission; save lives, give back, and continually innovate.

• Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications 

• US Citizenship
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or related, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge in the following areas; Electrostatics, embedded hardware design, embedded software design, digital design with microprocessors, digital communications and signal processing.
• Proficient writing, speaking, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Team player who is able to work cooperatively with other teammates. 
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Detail oriented and able to accept critical feedback. 
• Satisfactory background check results.
• Negative drug test result.

Preferred Qualification 

• Knowledge of Utility electric power systems.  
• A self-starter who is excited for new opportunities and can step outside their comfort zones.
