Groups and Subscription Seat Allocation

Groups define alert routing — users only receive alerts for their own group. Use Edit Group Subscriptions to allocate seats across groups.

Overview

Groups structure visibility and alert routing inside an organization. Seats connect billing and entitlement reality to users. Mis-grouping creates map blind spots and emergency routing errors.

How groups affect emergency routing

Seats and Edit Group Subscriptions

Open the Edit Group Subscriptions dialog from the User Management page. The total subscription seats that can be allocated to all user groups combined equals the number of seats available to the organization. Move seats between groups as crew sizes change.

Healthy patterns

  1. Model groups on crews, regions, or functions — not only HR trees unless they match operations.
  2. Assign seats to active personnel; reclaim seats from departed users per policy.
  3. After group or seat changes, validate map visibility and emergency-team effectiveness with supervised drills.
  4. Reconfirm "Always Included In Emergencies" for Dispatch and any Admins who carry org-wide responsibility.
