Device Shows Red and Yellow Fault LEDs

RED + YELLOW corner LEDs are the periodic self-test reporting a fault. Triage, capture diagnostics, and file an RMA at SafeguardEquipment.com/return or 208-773-9263.

Overview

Compass Series performs a periodic self-test routine during normal operation. When that routine detects a fault, the corner LEDs flash RED and YELLOW. A device in this state may not be trustworthy for safety monitoring until cleared or serviced.

Triage

  1. Identify the model and hardware version — record both.
  2. Power-cycle the device once if permitted by policy and re-evaluate the LED pattern.
  3. If safe, pair to Navigator Mobile to capture diagnostics, firmware version, and any error wording the app shows.
  4. If the RED + YELLOW pattern persists, label the device and remove it from service per policy. Photograph the LEDs and capture timestamps before storing.
