Overview
Emergency events begin when an authorized trigger occurs and your organization's routing rules deliver notifications to responders. The trigger itself is one of five canonical sources defined by the Compass Series and Navigator Mobile User Guides.

Automatically created events
- Impact — the device is hard-hat-mounted, the impact is in a downward direction, and the force is severe enough that it could cause a concussion.
- Fall — the device experiences a fall greater than 6 ft (1.8 m).
- Arc Flash — the device detects light characteristics of an arc flash severe enough to cause injury.
- No Motion / Man Down — added to elevate urgency when no motion is detected for 60 seconds following the initiation of an emergency event. No movement does not trigger an event by itself.
Manually created events
Press and hold the SOS button on the Compass — or the in-app SOS button — for 3 seconds to trigger an SOS event. The countdown sound during the SOS hold can be disabled in Navigator Mobile (Emergency Service Settings) for discreet activation.
Subscription gating
Emergency event detection and dispatch require an active Navigator subscription. Without a subscription, the device performs voltage and current detection and can receive emergency event SMS messages, but it cannot detect, send, or coordinate emergency events.
