Subscription and Role Basics

How subscription seats, groups, and roles combine to gate Navigator Mobile and Navigator Console features.

Overview

Customer-visible capability is usually shaped by subscription or entitlements, role, group membership, and device model. Support tickets about missing features often trace back to those gates - not defective hardware.

Roles (customer naming)

  • Mobile User: Navigator Mobile workflows - pairing, monitoring tabs/tools, firmware (when permitted), mobile emergency participation (when enabled).
  • Dispatch: Navigator Console operational surfaces such as emergency map/dashboard workflows as entitled.
  • Admin: user/group/org configuration; Compass Pro family configuration surfaces when subscription and model apply.

Subscription and seats

Organizations often assign seats and place users in groups. Groups can affect operational visibility, location sharing when enabled, and emergency routing. Exact behavior follows your tenant configuration.

Device model layer

Compass Core, Compass Pro, and Compass Pro IS are not interchangeable for every procedure - especially admin configuration, firmware packages, and certain field behaviors. Always capture model and hardware version when escalating.
