Identify Your Device and Hardware Version

Read the product label, find the hardware version in Navigator Mobile, and capture what support needs.

Overview

Firmware compatibility, LED interpretation, and troubleshooting paths frequently depend on model and hardware revision. Capture both before any firmware change or support escalation.

Compass Series product label showing model, revision, week and year produced, serial, and Data Matrix code
Placeholder — replace with an annotated label photo and a Navigator Mobile Tools-tab screenshot showing device type and hardware version.

Read the product label

The label encodes a structured serial:

  • MMMMMM — Model Number
  • RR — Model Revision Number
  • WW — Week Produced
  • YY — Year Produced
  • XXXX — Sequential Serial Number
  • A Data Matrix code on the label encodes MMMMMM + RR + WW + YY + XXXX in one scan.

Identify in Navigator Mobile

With the device connected to Navigator Mobile, open the Tools tab and look at the Devices section. The device type (for example "Compass Pro 50 Hz") and hardware version (for example "v5") are shown there.

What to collect for support

  1. Photograph or transcribe the device label in good lighting.
  2. Record model family: Compass Core, Compass Pro, or Compass Pro IS.
  3. Record the serial and the hardware revision shown in the app (V4 or V5+).
  4. From Navigator Mobile when paired, capture the firmware version and any diagnostics screens your build exposes.
  5. From Navigator Console (Admin), capture inventory fields if your org tracks units centrally.
