Update Device Firmware

Two entry points: the prompt that appears automatically after pairing, and the firmware row in the Tools tab.

Overview

Firmware updates address compatibility and reliability issues. Use the official in-app update flow only.

How updates are offered

  • Auto-prompt — once a Compass Series device is paired, if a firmware update is available, Navigator Mobile prompts you to install it.
  • Tools tab — the firmware version row exposes an update option whenever the version is outdated.

Before you begin

  • Adequate battery on both phone and device.
  • Stable Bluetooth proximity for the duration of the update.
  • Identify model and hardware version (V4 vs V5+) on the Tools tab if you escalate.

Update

  1. Tap Update from the auto-prompt or open Tools and tap Update on the firmware row.
  2. Read warnings; do not force-quit the app or move out of Bluetooth range mid-phase.
  3. Keep the phone on with the app open for the duration of the update.
  4. Wait for completion; verify the firmware version changed as expected.
  5. Validate Voltage and Current tab readings and the heartbeat after any post-update reboot.
